Fits in 90% of cases
The Perfect Van bank-TTT is compatible with approximately 90% of vehicles that previously had Thetford C400 or C500 series models installed.
The reason for this lies in the similarly contoured base of the dry composting toilet. This makes it possible to easily install the toilet in the existing space without major modifications, even in difficult situations such as a shower tray in front of it.
Our TTT bench unit is screwed to the back wall using screw-in sleeves. This requires careful installation. When installing it in place of the C500, cover plates are also necessary. If you have any questions, we recommend contacting us.
Intervention in furniture construction?
Caution is advised at the cut-out wooden recesses – that is, where the toilet is inserted and attached to the wall. This can be seen, for example, from the shaft side. Depending on the installer and toilet model, some wood may need to be sawn off in the upper area. This is due to our large solids bucket, which is 27 cm wide. Furthermore, when installing the C400, a recess must be cut in the upper area to accommodate the control panel.
All the cutouts that need to be made can be reversed later. The cassette toilet still covers these areas.
Furthermore, in the case of bank toilets, the shaft area may need to be re-clad or re-covered. This could involve completely removing panels or repositioning covers. will have to be done. The reason for this is again the large solids bucket and, in part, also the large urine tank.
Exceptions
Currently, there is one known model in which the Bank-TTT cannot be installed (or only with significant modifications). This is the Knaus Vansation TI with a built-in diesel heater. It is not possible to use the solid waste bucket in this model without rerouting the diesel heater's exhaust pipe. There are only a few known vehicle models in which the Perfect Van dry toilet cannot be fitted without modifications.
Caution is also advised with all models where there is no shaft, meaning the toilet is mounted directly to the GRP body. In this case, our tank protrudes from the toilet. However, we offer a modified alternative of the TTT for this purpose.

Below are some before/after examples – this will make many things clearer:
★ Installation in a Hymer MLT, model year 2024 (Thetford C500)
The Thetford toilet sits directly on the floor. The composting toilet fits perfectly here. Removing the bench toilet is straightforward.
Thetford C500 removal time: 60 min.
Installation time for the TTT: 90 min.
Installation time for the electrical system: 30 min.
Installation time of the air kit: 45 - 60 min.
Removing the Thetford sink from the older Hymer MLT 580 is a bit more complicated. We're happy to offer advice if you have any questions.

★ Installation in a Hymer Grand Canyon S, model year 2023 (Thetford C500)
The Thetford toilet is integrated into a shower tray. The dry composting toilet fits very well after some modifications. Removing the bench toilet is very time-consuming and complicated. Furthermore, the entire shaft area must be relined after removal.
Thetford C500 removal time: 60 min.
Installation time for the TTT: 90 - 120 min.
Re-cladding of the shaft: 60 min.
Installation time for the electrical system: 30 min.
Installation time of the air kit: 45 - 60 min.
Removing the Thetford sink from the new Hymer Grand Canyon S seems to be a bit easier. However, the shaft still needs to be relined. We're happy to provide advice if you have any questions.

★ Installation in a Knaus Vansation TI (Thetford C400)
The Thetford toilet is integrated into a shower tray. After some adjustments, the dry composting toilet fits very well. Despite the C400 model, using the wall cover is recommended. Removing the bench toilet is easy; the existing floor ventilation can be used. Complete sealing with Sikaflex is recommended.
Removal time of the Thetford C400: 45 min.
Installation time for the TTT: 90 - 120 min.
Adjusting the wall panel and installation: 30 min.
Installation time for the electrical system: 30 min.
Installation time of the air kit: 45 - 60 min.
On the Knaus Vansation with diesel heating, the toilet can only be installed after the heating chimney has been rerouted (specialist workshop, takes approx. 8 hours + material costs)

★ Installation in a Weinsberg Pepper (Thetford C400)
The Thetford toilet is integrated into a shower tray. The dry composting toilet fits well after extensive modifications.
